By manipulating various materials and hands-on, experiential interaction, children will explore various scientific subjects and concepts. Children are natural explorers, and this area of the classroom satisfies that need for exploration and curiosity regarding the natural world around them. Basic observation of plants and animals in the classroom sets the stage for the understanding of more complex scientific naming and classification. Children will explore concepts such as living and non-living, sink and float, magnetism and botany, just to name a few.
